How the ranking works

Each area carries an editorial rating from 0 to 3 for each priority, and every rating of 2 or more is backed by a sourced reason shown on its card. Must-haves count first, then the weighted total. No prices or statistics are used; the only numbers come from your choices.

Drive times from each part of the county

OpenStreetMap routing (OSRM) estimates, computed Oct 19, 2026. They assume no traffic; weekday rush hour on GA 400 takes longer. Each cell links to its route query.

From the Dawsonville square, OpenStreetMap routing estimates about 45 minutes to Alpharetta City Hall with no traffic; from GA 400 at GA 53 it is about 35. Big Canoe and the Amicalola side trade minutes for land and views.
